NO EASY ROAD

Acts 5:17-18 KJV
Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

[18] And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

I doubt if anyone reading this doesn’t know that the one who betrayed Jesus was part of his own team of twelve. The teachers of the law had schemed well enough to get us to that point, the very people who should have been partners to His ministry.

A lot of people are surprised when people in the same society or fraternity are hostile to them or even stab them in the back. I get it… it hurts… yes, but the surprise element is what I feel should be out of the equation or better still, managed well.

In today’s text, the Apostles had their fair share of the cake too. Like Jesus, they tasted what it felt like to be envied and hated by the very people they should have been supported by. (Looks like this thing started before Adam)

So if your friend in the choir, club or intercessory group, pulls a fast one on you or runs you under the bus, know you are in good company. Jesus, Peter, Paul and even God Himself have all been down that rough and dreary road 😊.

Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals
