VISION UNLIMITED – Tue, Feb 28, 2017

Hebrews 4:13 KJV

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Meditating on this scriptures reminded me of a Facebook post by a very good brother, Frank Aboagye. In his post he resolved not to do anything in the ‘dark’ because God sees in those places anyway.

I think more often than not we Christians underestimate the scope of God’s vision. We limit our thinking to believe that He may not be paying attention to us at that material time we commit a partiular sin.

The fact is that, God doesn’t only see us humans. He sees EVERY SINGLE CREATURE. Pause for a moment and reflect on this. Absolutely NOTHING is hidden from him. That is deep! Now let’s make a list:

A leech somewhere at the bottom of the ocean.

Reptiles playing at the top of a volcano mountain.

You, lying in the bossom of your lover, etc etc etc

There’s no creature that is not manifest in his sight, all things are naked and opened unto His eyes. Think twice today before you do what you want to do.
Have a blessed day.

WELCOME THEM – Fri, Feb 24, 2017

Philemon 1:15-16 KJV

For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
[16] Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

The account of Philemon is always a reminder of how much brotherly love Christ expects us to show to those who have abandoned us. This is truly a difficult thing to do and big test on our faith.

How easy is it to welcome back a lover who abandoned you? Or perhaps a member of your staff who backstabbed you? A belligerent son/daughter? An irresponsible parent who didn’t contribute a single dime to your upbringing? Our list could be endless…

According to Paul’s single-chapter letter to Philemon, we may not be able to restore these people back to the position they used to occupy, but one thing we can do… is to make peace with them and welcome them again… for the SAKE OF THE GOSPEL

Being a Christian has never been an easy walk, and these are some of the things that define that difficulty. You choose to be Christ’s… you choose embrace and accept them as they come back repentant.
Have a blessed day.

FOOLISH QUESTIONS – Thu, Feb 23, 2017

Titus 3:9 KJV

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

When I was a little kid, my mum used to avoid many of the questions I asked. She claimed I asked too many foolish questions. 😊

I would want to know why fowls don’t pee (urinate), why cats had lots of fur, etc, etc, etc. After Sunday school, I once asked my mum whose God’s parents were, and she responded by asking why I didn’t ask my Sunday school teacher.

Today, I know some the questions I asked were very difficult to answer, hence my mum’s reaction to them. But indeed, some of them were foolish. Paul the apostle didn’t want Titus to entertain questions on genealogies that wouldn’t have an impact on the growth of Cretans’ faith; questions that would sustain arguments and retard progress.

Indeed it is necessary to know, so it is important to ask questions. But at a certain stage in your ministry/relationship with God, you need to know what you don’t need to waste time on. Avoid them as well, they won’t un-make you.
Have a blessed day.

SOUND SPEECH – Wed, Feb 22, 2017

Titus 2:6-8 KJV

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
[7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
[8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

When a young man was assigned to a group of very young and vibrant people, during a group discussion, he frowned. This happened some years back at my workplace. What were his reasons?

He thought he knew those guys too well and believed they would only be jesting and making unsavory comments. He could already see an unproductive group.

Paul the apostle admonished Titus about this characteristic behaviour of the youth. In all the counsel Paul gave the various groups, he was careful to lay emphasis on sound speech when he addressed the youth.

Youthful exuberance may invite you to tow the line of most others; trash talking and dishing out the words ‘when necessary.’ But they may come back to haunt you. Keep your speech sound.
Have a blessed day.

TRUE KNOWLEDGE – Tue, Feb 21, 2017

Titus 1:15-16 KJV

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
[16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him , being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

To know God is not just to have mental knowledge about who He is or is not, but also to live out what that knowledge is.

Paul’s letter to Titus speaks volumes about the Cretan community he had left Titus in. Even though some of them had become Christians, like our generation today, most of them never walked the way of a Christian.

To profess God but deny Him in works is a very dangerous position for any Christian. It is deception… deception of oneself, that has just a single consequence!!!

We are called like Titus today to free our groups and societies of this canker. Help be a check on your fellow Christian. Let’s not profess in word alone, but in deeds as well.
Have a blessed day.

NO FEARS – Fri, Feb 17, 2017

2 Timothy 1:7-8 KJV

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
[8] Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Once I asked a friend why he had still not proposed love to a lady friend I knew he loved. His answer was that he was still shy of her and didn’t know how to go about it. Whenever he felt like going ahead to make a proposal, fear got the best of him.

This may be the attitude of some of us even in business, academia and other endeavours. We want them alright but are afraid to make the move.

You defy the spirit of God in you when you allow fear to get the best of yourself. Fear to progress or proceed should be ousted from your life irrespective of bad experiences in your life.

Furthermore, never be ashamed to share those bad experiences with others, for the sake of the Gospel. Take that bold step now, because the time is now! Fears been long conquered.
Have a blessed Friday.

GOD & MONEY – Thu, Feb 16, 2017

1 Timothy 6:6-7 KJV

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
[7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

Words like these, against a backdrop of statements Jesus himself made about riches may easily be misinterpreted that God abhors riches and wealth.

Like Jesus, Paul’s had observed that riches often set a veil before men, so that many a rich men bothered the least about the  statuses of their souls. He would tell Timothy riches make men easily fall into temptations and hurtful lusts, which plunge their souls into destruction and perdition (v10).

So does God hate riches? Certainly not! In fact “the blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Prov 10: 22).

The rich must pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness should they want to be released from the hold of its evil.

Money is powerful and good, but loving it more than the creator could prove very disastrous.

Love God… so that money and the riches he gives can serve you the way He wants them to.
Have a blessed day.
