Philemon 1:15-16 KJV

For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
[16] Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

The account of Philemon is always a reminder of how much brotherly love Christ expects us to show to those who have abandoned us. This is truly a difficult thing to do and big test on our faith.

How easy is it to welcome back a lover who abandoned you? Or perhaps a member of your staff who backstabbed you? A belligerent son/daughter? An irresponsible parent who didn’t contribute a single dime to your upbringing? Our list could be endless…

According to Paul’s single-chapter letter to Philemon, we may not be able to restore these people back to the position they used to occupy, but one thing we can do… is to make peace with them and welcome them again… for the SAKE OF THE GOSPEL

Being a Christian has never been an easy walk, and these are some of the things that define that difficulty. You choose to be Christ’s… you choose embrace and accept them as they come back repentant.
Have a blessed day.
