Daniel 12:1-2 KJV

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people:

[2] And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

In one of my very recent posts, I touted Daniel’s penchant for interpretation of dreams and visions.

I remember reading, some years ago, about how the three wise men from the East who presented gifts to Jesus were actually students of Daniel’s teachings. He became a whole institution even as a captive in Babylon. It comes at no surprise to me that among the prophets of the old testament, Daniel got to catch a glimpse of the End Times.

Thousands of years ago, Daniel was clear about the Resurrection, he didn’t mince words. He added that they that are WISE shall be saved, they shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, purified, made white and refined… wooooww!! (v3 & 10), consistent with what Peter and Apostle Paul would later confirm.

Jesus is the Resurrection and Life, you’ve got to believe this!
We won’t end up in the flesh. At some point, the flesh and the soul shall be separated, then the life we have lived will begin to matter. God wants you to live.

Have a blessed day.

ONLY ONE REMAINS – Tue, Dec 10, 2019

Daniel 11:36-37 KJV

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

[37] Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

Sometimes I wonder if any other prophet saw more dreams and interpreted visions as much as Daniel did, especially dreams pertaining to politics and political power.

Decades come and gone, many who have sought for power have loved it, and would have loved to live forever so they could enjoy what they had. This caused some to be fooled into thinking their reign could be extended into spiritual dimensions though they were mere men, wanting to take command of spiritual heights, declaring themselves gods and imposing the worship of themselves on their people.

Such are what Daniel saw in his own visions. But you and I can testify that no matter how much some of these ancient kings etched their memoirs in history, some will still never be remembered. Bible scholars believe Daniel’s vision in 11:37-45 referred to King Antiochus. You may want to check him out later and connect the dots in these prophesies.

All power and all things will definitely come to an end. This thought must constantly guide our pursuits all day, so we don’t end up toiling in vain. In the end, only His Word will remain.
Stick to what will remain, till the end of time.

Have a blessed day.

THE MORE YOU KNOW – Wed, Dec 04, 2019

Daniel 5:18,22 KJV

O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:

[22] And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

I have always believed that God judges man based on how much he knows, what is available to him and what his motives are.

I came to this conclusion after studying God’s reaction to some bible characters who did similar things and yet got contrasting verdicts. See the accounts of Mary, mother of Jesus, and Zachariah, father of John the Baptist, for instance. One comment from the priest and he went dumb, though Mary made the same comment; “How can this be?”

We see a similar thing in today’s text: Daniel 5, when King Belshazzar disrespect the holy items his father, Nebuchadnezzar, had looted from Jerusalem’s temple. Other kings had done worse, but God was particular about this because King Belshazzar knew more (see v12).

This is probably why Jesus expected more from the teachers of the Law.
In the same way much is expected from you and I reading this. God knows we know more, and that comes with more responsibility than those who know nothing. We have more exposure and He expects us to make that count. Contribute your quota to the expansion of His kingdom. You know more, and He knows you know.

Have a blessed day.

STILL RULES – Tue, Dec 03, 2019

Daniel 4:17-18 KJV

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

[18] This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen.

The account of Nebuchadnezzar has so many highlights that makes studying very interesting.
First point for me is why God would be so interested in a pagan king.

As history would have it, God had already pronounced judgement on His own people, the Jews, and would still need some human agents to carry out his decree. This is where it doesn’t matter who God finds fit for such a purpose. He administered dreams, not once, and other experiences that some pious men could hardly chance upon (See chapters 1- 3).

So that even after all the experiences, when Nebuchadnezzar still wouldn’t submit to His will, He would take him through another wilderness experience to hammer home the point, “the Most High rules in the affairs of men…”

Alas, Nebuchadnezzar came through, but he learnt the hard way. His experience is a good one for you and I to know that indeed God lifts whomever He will, and exalts the lowliest of men to high places.

Have a blessed day.
