Daniel 11:36-37 KJV

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

[37] Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

Sometimes I wonder if any other prophet saw more dreams and interpreted visions as much as Daniel did, especially dreams pertaining to politics and political power.

Decades come and gone, many who have sought for power have loved it, and would have loved to live forever so they could enjoy what they had. This caused some to be fooled into thinking their reign could be extended into spiritual dimensions though they were mere men, wanting to take command of spiritual heights, declaring themselves gods and imposing the worship of themselves on their people.

Such are what Daniel saw in his own visions. But you and I can testify that no matter how much some of these ancient kings etched their memoirs in history, some will still never be remembered. Bible scholars believe Daniel’s vision in 11:37-45 referred to King Antiochus. You may want to check him out later and connect the dots in these prophesies.

All power and all things will definitely come to an end. This thought must constantly guide our pursuits all day, so we don’t end up toiling in vain. In the end, only His Word will remain.
Stick to what will remain, till the end of time.
