Luke 4:35 KJV
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
I’ve witnessed countless times at empowerment or impartation services, many things that I honestly struggle with, even at this point of my spiritual journey. Some of these struggles may be simply because I find it hard to situate them in scripture or they are in direct contradiction to what I’ve read.
I had a cousin whose mental state actually became worse after such a session. The manifestations never left her, she remained in that agitated, frenzied state till her passing. I’ve also seen others get hurt physically, real bad, during such a session, and makes the human in me want to ask whether it was even good they showed up.
In today’s scripture verse, Jesus conducted exorcism, but the text was quick to add, “…and hurt him not!!!” Obviously, this caught my attention, as a teacher. We may not understand much but I believe it is important for ministers to be a bit more humane during these sessions. ☺️

As we reflect on Jesus’s works, let’s also pay attention to some of the fine details.
We pray He dispels all evil intentions in our lives and free us from the power of darkness and its works.
Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals
