Ezekiel 34:5 KJV
And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
Everyone of us, irrespective of how small or few those around us are, are responsible for some people to an extent. Could be your siblings, family, colleagues at work, etc. These people may have come to us without prior warning or knowledge, unlike the case of voluntary leadership.
So the feeling may be that of indifference, since we didn’t bring the responsibility upon ourselves. We easily dismiss any form of investment of our time and resources into their upkeep or development.
I believe Ezekiel’s words for shepherds (34:1-11) applies for those of us in this category too. We are equally liable for the welfare of those “unintentional sheep” 🐑 we have been “blessed” with.

Strengthen and encourage those who are weak and those broken (v4), seek those lost and bring together those scattered (v5). Consider their welfare, because your success and progress may deeply lie in their well-being.
Have a blessed day. #CarllyDevotionals
