Sometimes in order for us to feel loved and a sense of belonging, we are tempted to follow suit and do what everyone else in a group is doing, even if we do not like it.

I’ve found myself in this uncomfortable situation quite a number of times, and truth be told, I failed sometimes. I’d come home, reflect, and ask myself why I fell for the pressure, rather than taking my stand and being branded for what I am and daring to be different.

Over the weekend, Bro. Dominic Appiah-Ofori drew my attention to the fact that many others reached the hem of Jesus’s garment, in the text above, simply because the woman with the issue of blood had paved the way. She did the unthinkable, got her results and became a template for others.

Sometimes we just need to dare to be different, as Christians. No need to succumb to the pressure of a group or a status quo that you don’t subscribe to. Be yourself, be different. Who knows the template you are carving out for onlookers.
