1 Kings 19:14-16 KJV
[14] And he said, I… even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
[15] And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint…
[16] Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
In the university I was involved in the leadership of a christian student fellowship group, so when a bigger group came calling, I turned down the offer. I felt I was involved in a couple of other things, so adding this other one may be too much to handle.
Months later, some other guys were brought in and they handled the job impressively. I lived to see it done well and wished I had availed myself and been part of that team.
When asked by God why he had gone through thick and thin to present himself before Him, Elijah made a good excuse, “only I am left…”
Instantly, God asked him to go anoint Elisha to take his place, as if to say, “alright my boy, enough of your complains!”

One thing for sure is that, God will always find someone to do His work, if you feel like not doing it, or it can’t be done without you. The other aspect is that, you may witness it being done, and done well, perhaps much to your chagrin.
Open up and allow him to use you as He pleases!
Have a blessed Friday. #CarllyDevotionals
