1 Corinthians 8:8-9 KJV
But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
[9] But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
I was in a little restaurant in Sandton – Johannesburg, having lunch with a colleague and the board chairman of our company. I had changed my order to include some pork soon as I realised they had it on the menu.
Soon as Chairman heard me make the changes in my order, he felt very disappointed. He “thought I was a very strong believer,” to quote him in his own words. This started a lengthy religious debate between the two of us, as we both tried to use the scriptures to buttress our points: whether or not a true believer should eat pork. 🤓
Apostle Paul, delved into these matters is his first letter to the Corinthians, where he even spoke of food offered to idols. In his opinion, such food can have no negative effects on him or his spirituality, but if he knew it would affect the conscience of a weaker brother observing, then he’d rather not eat each such food.

Perspectives vary more often than not, so in our quest to help win more souls, it is important to be careful of the little things we do that may drive them away, even if that includes shunning away from the delicacies/things we cherish. There is always a price to pay, no matter how insignificant. Just make sure you are doing your best.
Have a blessed day.
