STIRRED UP – Wed, Jun 03, 2020

Acts 17:16 KJV

Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

I’m sure you know a few people who would never sit and watch certain things go wrong in whatever environment or community they find themselves in. I remember when a top police officer was transferred out of the capital city to another region.

Rumour had it that he was able to crack down crime so much that during his tenure, such perpetrators had to advise themselves and relocate whenever he was around.

Paul the Apostle found himself in Berea out of necessity. He was only in transit, escaping a deadly situation, yet his spirit had no peace while he waited for his other colleagues to arrive. His spirit was stirred up having seen worshippers ignorantly do the wrong thing. He couldn’t sit still, he couldn’t keep mute. He just couldn’t, even though that meant blowing his cover.

Many of us are too comfortable in environments that are enimical to our growth. We are too nice and seek to please everyone, but the truth is we can’t. Allow your spirit to be stirred up and burst forth. You can’t co-exist with certain situations as a believer. Burst forth and stand for your beliefs.

Have a blessed day.
