ONE TAKEN, ONE LEFT – Sat, Apr 18, 2020

Luke 17:34-36 KJV

I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

[35] Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

[36] Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

I still have images of my Sunday School teacher demonstrating these scriptures to us when we were kids, explaining how the rapture would occur.

As kids, it wasn’t such an easy thing to understand. Interestingly, when I read the same lines/verses now, I think about them differently. Why would two people be doing the same thing yet receive different results, according to Jesus?

Each individual will be judged differently… nothing like a one size fits all situation. For those who know much and have been given much, much is expected of them. What may warrant mercy for one individual may condemn another.

God sees beyond the facades and masks we wear. He knows the motives behind our actions, so that even if we do the same things as different people, he “rewards” us differently.

Have a blessed day.
