Ezekiel 48:31,35 KJV
And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel:
It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.
At the last Habitat Fair I attended, I spent the most time at about two exhibition booths, whose businesses focused on security doors and gates. Though I did not own a house, for some reasons I just couldn’t leave those stands.
I could tell others were equally interested, by the kind of questions they asked.
Gates and doors are by far the most basic form of security any house must have. In as much as they keep the unwanted out, they also grant access to the wanted. Gates are not limited to physical structures alone, they carry a significant role in spiritual matters as well.
It is not for no reason that in Prophet Ezekiel’s final visions of the post-exile era, he saw the names of the sons of Jacob (Israel) on all twelve gates of the new city, and the name of the city is JEHOVAH SHAMMAH, the Lord is there.
God will reside in the soul whose gates are well secured. The soul whose gates are re-inforced and won’t be compromised by the pressures of this life and the lusts of the flesh.
Your gates may be totally blown away but He can help you put them in place, so He can live peacefully with and within you.
Let’s begin to work on our gates, so we can keep sin out and entertain the saviour of our souls.
Have a blessed Friday.
