Lamentations 5:2,4 KJV
Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
Some Ghanaians feel Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkwrumah shouldn’t have driven away the whites completely. They feel some form of power sharing and a mutual co-existence would have made our country like South Africa by now. Majority of these same people feel the state is a failed one now, since all the ideals of Nkrumah are nowhere near sight.
Nkrumah wanted Ghana to hoard all the cocoa produced in Africa and perhaps control the sale of this cash crop and its derivatives. Unfortunately today, the cocoa is sold back to us at a premium price.
Perhaps, this is what the Prophet Jeremiah felt, a failed state, a time when Israel’s wood was sold back to her, when her inheritance was now ceded to strangers/aliens. Things that should have come to them naturally now came at a price.
Spiritually, this is what happens to us when we dabble in sin. We cede our inheritance and promises to the enemy, the devil. We lose the power to decree and speak over situations. We become a failed people, and begin to beg for what is originally ours. I pray that you and I get delivered from sin and break free from its hold. We are victorious!
Have a blessed day. #TGIF
