Lamentations 3:31-32 KJV
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
Many times I have read that the Jews were destroyed by a people (whether the Persians, Chaldeans or Babylonians) and were all taken captive. Yet you always see a line like this: “those who were left behind, did this and that.”
Somehow, no matter the level of annihilation, whether total or partial, a remnant is always left behind. Why was this the case? The prophet Jeremiah introduces us to a character of God… His Divine Mercy!
God is never angry with us forever, He always offers hope no matter how much chastisement we receive from Him, as a result of our own actions. Even if our sins cause Him to look away, He still hangs around the corner to hope for your turning point.
His anger is for a moment but His mercies are everlasting. Don’t make anyone fool you not to return to Him. He’s probably been expecting it till now. Make the move, it wasn’t for no reason He always left the remnant.
Have a blessed day.
