Lamentations 2:15-16 KJV

All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

[16] All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

I saw a movie of one of the crusaders of Jerusalem. How he fought with all his life to defend the Holy City, but eventually the City fell. Even he, a renowned fighter, with his entire army, could do nothing to save Jerusalem.

A lot of people asked where the God of Jerusalem was. How had this happened? That beautiful city was now a sorry sight.
Yet all these were foretold. Prophet Jeremiah must have suffered the most: He spoke about it and still lived to see it happen. No wonder his words in this book of Lamentations are so vivid. Detailed accounts of what the streets had become.

Every single Word of God will come to pass. This includes all the blessings/ curses that accompany certain actions of ours. We cannot live as though actions have no consequences.

I pray that we fulfill scripture in positive ways and not otherwise. Ways that will positively impact our families and the generations after us. May our actions be guided by His Spirit, so we can be assured of consequences that will bring joy and laughter, not tears.
