Jeremiah 42:7 KJV
And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah.
Is there any formula for how soon or quickly one hears a response from the Lord? How long does one actually have to wait? Does it depend on the gravity of the situation/request or on the level of relationship between the one making the request/intercessor and the Lord?
The Jews who were left behind after captivity were terrified as well as confused, especially after the death of Gedaliah. So they went back to the one prophet who predicted all these happenings, Jeremiah, to know what the Lord’s new direction for them would be. Their response came, but in not less than 10days!
Why that duration for a message that seemed like a repitition of the same old instructions? There are lots of questions regarding our period of wait, that we may never find answers to, in this short life of ours. So whether it is a day or a decade of wait, we still need to trust in His goodness.
Sometimes, it may seem like forever, but one thing is sure… those who wait on the Lord shall have their strength renewed.
Keep hope and faith alive as you wait on Him at the crossroads. He will come through in His time, and in that time, He will make it beautiful.
Have a blessed day.
