HIDDEN TREASURES IN THE DARKNESS – Wed, Jul 24, 2019

Isaiah 45:3-4 KJV

And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

[4] For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

These words attributed to God in the entire chapter of Isaiah 45 reminds me of a character in that old Ghanaian movie titled, “I told you so.” This character kept on uttering the words, “upon the recommendations of my own krachi powers, I don’t fear whooo.”

Such majesty, such display of power, such reverence, God displayed all these through Cyrus, a pagan king, to being Israel out of captivity in Babylon. Cyrus knew this power was so real so would not strive with God (v9-10). And because Cyrus obeyed, this is what God had in store for him:

“The labour of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia and the Sabean, men of stature, shall come over unto you, and they shall be yours. They shall come in chains and fall down unto you and make supplications unto you!!” (v14)
God swore by Himself and saw these words come to live, proving His authenticity and sovereignty over all the gods the people knew.

No matter the situation, know we are not poor people at all. He has already “given us the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places (v3)”
May these blessings come unto those who believe and make Jehovah their God.

Have a blessed day.
