Isaiah 24:14-15 TMB
But there are some who will break into glad song. Out of the west they’ll shout of God’s majesty.
[15] Yes, from the east God’s glory will ascend. Every island of the sea Will broadcast God’s fame, the fame of the God of Israel.
I understand better now why some of the kings of their time found it difficult to take in the words of some of the prophets of old.
Taking time to read Isaiah 24, makes one wonder why such anarchy, such level of destruction and chaos would be conferred on a people in the first place. A message of total doom and gloom. Reading it from the Message Bible brings out the message clearer. A message that could make anyone living in the time very angry.
But like they say, “every cloud has a silver lining,” and usually “there is light at the end of the tunnel.” Though Isaiah prophesied doom, he still saw a select-few who were untouched by the happenings of the time (see v14-16), a people whose god is the Lord of Hosts.
So even though times may be hard, it is important to encourage yourself, because you also operate in a different space, a space of faith, a space where what you see with your eyes doesn’t count so much. I pray for a heart to sail through storms and a mindset of faith, that is immovable by present conditions.
Have a blessed day.
