Isaiah 26:19 KJV
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Not much emphasis is made on life after death in the old testament like in the new. Explanations from writers like St. Paul the apostle, threw more light on what Jesus Himself had taught, on the same subject.
These words from Isaiah go to buttress the point that indeed, the dead shall live again, the earth shall cast out the dead!
For instance, in the previous chapter he says in verse 8, “He’ll banish death forever. And God will wipe the tears from every face. He’ll remove every sign of disgrace From his people, wherever they are. Yes! God says so!” – Message Bible
A statement like this in Isaiah’s time was such a hopeful one, considering that death was man’s worst enemy. There would have been no point living for the Lord if it all ended here on earth.
We yearn for the place where tears will be no more… tears of disappointments, tears of shame, tears of hopelessness… no more tears!
Our earnest desires should be to see this place. My hope is to see you there!
Have a blessed day. #TGIF
