Psalm 106:13,15 KJV
They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
WILL POWER is one of our most powerful gifts God ceded to us mortals, at least according to common knowledge. And this is demonstrated even in the journeys of the Israelite through the wilderness.
The Psalm (Ps 106) recounts a good portion of this journey and what the people kept doing: forgetting God and not keeping to His counsel.
The outcome is that the people usually had it their way… but ended up losing… this Psalm says, their souls became lean. Now that’s an interesting way to put it.
The permissible WILL of God is not the place to be. He permits when we push things to the extreme because He is bound by His Word. So we may get away with what we want alright but it may come with issues that may vex our spirits and cause leannes of our souls.
His perfect WILL however yields much gain. Though we may not like or feel its effects in the initial stages, it has the long-term goal of enriching our souls and giving peace in our spirits. I pray God grants us the wisdom to remain in His perfect WILL.
Have a blessed day. #TGIF
