Psalm 110:1 KJV
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
For every student of the bible, this particular verse in Psalm 110 rings a bell. I have it underlined in my bible and have referenced it to the banter Jesus had with the Pharisees in Matthew 22. They never could answer Jesus when he asked them what this verse meant, because it was way above their league.
In this Psalm, David might have actually been given the opportunity to listen in on a conversation between The Father and the Son, a very rare opportunity. At that point he is clearly able to distinguish the Father from the Son, a thing no one in His generation or the next knew.
So Jesus actually quoted this scripture for the Pharisees to know that indeed, he existed before David did and is truly God. But of course, that was a hard teaching for them to grasp and I’m sure would have been same for you and I if we were in their time.
Christ is the Son of God and is God. This is no blasphemy, neither is it folly to believe in Him and trust your life to Him. Convert… denounce what other power you follow, they were all made a footstool to Him before you were born.
Have a blessed day.
