Psalm 83:2-3 KJV
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
I love the History channel and whenever I get the chance, I’d set a reminder to watch some of the wars this world has seen. One thing is very common among most of the war generals and leaders of the time.
So whether is was Hitler, Churchill, Yamamoto, Von Manstein or Franklin Roosevelt, they always knew a lot and even wanted to know more about their enemies. Not caring about what strategies your enemy was adopting was almost suicidal then. At least it gave you some level of preparedness in battle, though you were sure of some surprises.
Being a temple musician for a long time, Asaph, the author of this Psalm, was well aware of each enemy and their strengths, which he’d go on to list.
It is important for Christians to know what strategies THE enemy uses in each generation.
Your success as a child of God is highly dependent on identifying enemy strategies and nibbing them in the bud, or perhaps swerving them. Like the war generals, know his approaches, techniques and the forms in which he subtly presents or manifests himself. You need all that intel for your progress.
Have a blessed day.
