Psalm 75:6-7 KJV
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
[7] But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
“Hardwork pays” indeed, and developed economies across the world are a simple testimony to this assertion. Countries like Japan, Malaysia, Rwanda are go to examples. Their efforts towards the development of their countries cannot be overlooked.
This trend, if not well analysed, has the tendency of comfortably eliminating the need for God in ones life. In this Psalm, Asaph, who had served as a temple musician from David’s time through to Solomon’s made a very profound statement; promotion comes from the Lord.
Asaph knew well enough that the efforts of men gets them into places, but by experience, he also knew well enough that this is so because they unleash the God-given ability within them in being hardworking, even if they are unaware.
We are able to work hard simply because He has gifted us with the strength to do so. And rightly so, He expects us to acknowledge that. God expects you to use the wisdom and strength He’s given you to bring progress, don’t fail Him.
Have a blessed day.
