Psalm 76:1-2 KJV
In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
Israelites children grew up knowing that Zion was the dwelling place of Yahweh. No one took this lightly. I could imagine the joy on the faces of those children who could finally make the trips for the first time to Jerusalem, with their parents.
Growing up as children, we learnt this differently. Our generation has come to know and believe that God’s dwelling is right within our hearts. And even though this is common knowledge, we do not uphold it as much as the Jews of old upheld Zion.
Either we do not believe that our bodies are the true temples of God or we have been struck by rod of familiarity. We’ve become too familiar with the status so much that we have trivialized its significance.
You remain His temple and you carry an important mandate of delivering Him to all those who desire to encounter Him. Be constantly reminded of this truth and conduct yourself in a manner that proves you know what/who you are and what cargo you carry in there.
Have a blessed day.
