Psalm 69:22-23 KJV
Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
[23] Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
There’s a lot of emotion bottled up in this Psalm of David. Also present is some resemblance to what Jesus Himself did while on earth.
But what caught my attention well enough was how much David wanted these enemies of his eliminated. So much so that he wanted their names blotted out of the book of the living. 🤔
But Jesus, in His time on earth, would have none of that. He preached a striking message that was and still is difficult to take in: love your enemies and pray for those who curse you. I honestly don’t know how well I have done with this, but certainly can’t remember how often I have prayed for even those who I know don’t like me. 😔
This is one of my spiritual objectives for this year. To make an effort each day to pray for those who don’t wish me well. I believe you can take up this challenge too. We may redefine Christianity in our homes with this approach.
Have a blessed day.
