STAY AWAY – Wed, Dec 18, 2018

Psalm 26:4-5 KJV

I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.

[5] I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.

A friend told me just a few weeks ago, how careful she was in choosing her friends. She was actually justifying why she had just a few friends but I had a whole bunch of them. It was a fun discussion though.

Days later, I got myself thinking a lot about this conversation. I realized that I had not been too circumspect in sanctioning those who walked into my life, most probably because of my temperament.

David makes a strong point in this Psalm. He won’t be found in “the congregation of evil doers, nor sit with the wicked.” He certainly meant something deeper than the surface meaning of those words considering what he himself did with Uriah later.

Clearly, David is pushing you and I to desire clean hearts and to entertain the company of such that clean intentions. Groups whose agenda are to bring others down are not clean enough for you and I, I pray for grace to stay away!

Have a blessed day.
