Psalm 19:7-8 KJV
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
[8] The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Of what use is giving something to someone if they are not able to benefit from it or apply it to their lives? Like giving cash to your cat because you love this pet so much!
King David knew of many laws that man had crafted to guide society, yet he could testify that the Law of the Lord “out-benefited” those of his time. He went to list a few:
The Law of the Lord
1. Converts the soul
2. Makes the simple wise
3. Gladdens the heart, for they are sure words.
4. Enlightens the soul
5. Is everlasting; doesn’t lose its relevance time after time
I’m sure David could have gone on and on, but he would conclude by saying “the words of the Lord are more to be desired than gold, yea fine gold.”
In a generation that is indifferent to the Word of the Lord, I pray for His Grace upon you to DESIRE His Word. Desire His Word… Desire it daily.
Have a blessed day.
