2 Chronicles 25:2 KJV
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord , but not with a perfect heart.
One of the areas I struggled with growing up as a young believer was living a clean life of no double standards. My intentions to do what was right was very clear in my mind but often never truly made up my mind to carry out those intentions.
I remember that encounter I had with with Pastor Ransford Abossey that shook me up and woke me from my sleep. It is one thing to know God and another to follow in His precepts, the two are entirely different.
King Amaziah listened to God in one moment and showed an amazing display of faith. He cut down a large army to size and faced the enemy with only a fewer number, by a prophetic direction. Indeed he was victorious, but he returned with the gods of those he had just defeated, so he could worship them… yes, such nonsense and foolishness!!!
We make ourselves of the stock of Amaziah, when we live lives of double standards. We don’t mock God, we rather look foolish in His eyes and He feels pity for us.
Align your actions with your knowledge of Him, the two should be inseparable.
Have a blessed day.
