2 Chronicles 7:12,16 KJV
And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
[16] For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
When Solomon dedicated the Temple, fire came down from heaven to consume their offerings. All who were present saw this spectacle. And God’s glory filled the place. He promised to be there perpetually.
But that wasn’t all!
God would never make such an open statement and commit Himself. Even though He is God, He won’t pre-determine how the end should be.
I write this to diffuse the argument people make about God already deciding how the end of a people should be.
So what, when God was promising to be in the Temple at Jerusalem pertually, didn’t He foresee what was going to happen in about 400yrs?
Our answer to this is in verse 19-22. God always presents both sides of the coin for you to choose. He knows vividly, what the picture of the consequences of each choice looks like in the end.
So no need to argue, God didn’t pre-determine anybody’s end. He knows how you will end if you choose your own ways, and yet knows what it will be like if you choose to walk with him. Either ways, the choice is still yours.
Have a blessed Friday.
