DISRUPTIONS IN THE CHURCH – Fri, Jul 20, 2018

1 Chronicles 15:2,13-14 KJV

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

[13] For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

[14] So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.

In my opinion, one of the things that made David such a special leader was how quick he was to admit fault.

A couple of days ago when we discussed the death of Uzzah, who died in an attempt to prevent the Ark from falling, some of you still had your misgivings. In 1 Chronicles 15, David had done his homework this time and knew exactly what to do.

Now the king knew Uzzah’s death was his doing. He had not consulted the Lord nor his prophets. He was just out of ORDER. Law and Order are also indicators of the presence of God in a place.

Though it is good to be yourself and flow freely as one wills, it is also prudent to know what the prescribed order is, so your good intentions don’t defy what is or what should be. Disruption is good when done in the right context.

Have a blessed Friday.
