All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

In the movie Poseidon, the hero wanted to escape alone without anyone’s help. He told those who had wanted to help that it was best for him to work alone. As things turned out, he got all the help he needed to make it out alive.

Though David was the chosen one, he was in hiding and he needed all the help he could get. Many many people got unto his side, so that what God had said about him would be established. He had many warriors in his camp, aside his three mighty men.

Each tribe had ‘David-faithfuls,’ as I prefer to call them, and they were all of one mind: to make David king. These even included the sons of Isacchar (v32), with their special abilities, all all other like-minded people who were not even of Jewish stock.

God has placed a burden of help/assistance on some people to get you where you must. Don’t resist them when they come. No need to play Superman, he is only alive in Hollywood. Accept help, especially when it is god-sent.
