2 Kings 23:25 KJV
And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
Josiah was a king who came to the throne only at a tender age of 8. With good advise he became one of Judah’s all-time best kings, carrying out the most extensive religious cleansing, ridding the ailing nation of idol worship.
Note that Israel by this time was already in captivity in Assyria and Judah was the last man standing. God approved of Josiah’s ways because he re-instituted something that was lost… the worship of the true God.
Yet one careless act; waring against king Pharaoh-Neco, brought his entire kingdom crumbling down. All he did went to the drains. Though he had a powerful reform and established a revival, foolishness got the better of him.
Having God’s stamp and mark of approval doesn’t hold back the repercussions of our foolish acts. What brings trouble to the unbeliever brings trouble to the most anointed man. Following God requires a certain level of wisdom that one must uphold at all times.
Have a blessed day and a happy New Month.
