2 Kings 24:14-15 KJV
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
So the day finally came!
The day that would pass for the most tragic of all, in the history of the Jews. That day when they were led out of their homes into captivity… the Babylonian Invasion. Israel had earlier suffered a similar fate in the Assyrian Invasion.
No matter the extent of God’s love for any group of people, sin has a way of neutralizing that love. In fact, sin is the only thing that has that special capability of dousing God’s love for us. And sin, in its fullness yields death!
Don’t allow sin to get you to the door of no return. That point when you are taken into captivity and utter hopelessness looms. A place where coming out won’t come easy, almost impossible.
Please don’t get there, do well not to get there.
Have a blessed day.
