2 Kings 12:7 KJV
Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
Usually when I go round the office and see things that are broken down, I get a bit upset. This is not something I do deliberately, I’ve realized over the years that it just happens that the mere sight of such generates some anger in me.
So whether it is a swivel chair, computer, toilet seat, door handle, A.C., TV remote, louvre blades or window blinds, I’d rather not see them, especially if they have been in that condition for a while. They should have been fixed immediately they got broken!
King Jehoash felt a similar pressure. So he took action for house of the Lord to be fixed.
Not all broken down things can be fixed with money, unfortunately. While others are emotionally broken, others are in a state that seem irreparable, and we need to be there for all such people. Our mandate as Christians is to ‘fix things.’
Christ came to fix a lot of people. He dedicated much of His time doing this and expects us to do same if not better. Don’t just look on like you don’t care. You just can’t be indifferent. You’ve got to ‘fix things.’
Have a blessed Friday.
