2 Kings 9:26 KJV

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord ; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord . Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground , according to the word of the Lord.

Some actions give ‘sweet’ gratification to the body to the extent that offenders often overlook the fact that someday, they will have to pay back for all that was done.

This was the case with Ahab and his wife Jezebel, the duo had single handedly wiped out God’s prophets from the land and ‘taken care’ of Naboth’s family because of his vineyard. Their end was predicted much earlier and God ensured it happened to the letter.

But the burden of this guilt was placed on Jehoram. He suffered for what his parents did. Now we can go on and on about whether this was deserved or not, (See v26-28) but one thing is certain, your bloodline is capable of holding a burden of guilt (judgement) or a blessing on you.

Thankfully, the blood of Christ is able to break us free from such a jinx.
It’s good to enjoy the effects of another person’s blessings but don’t pay for someone’s ‘crime.’ The Blood of Christ frees us from such unnecessary burdens, take advantage!
