2 Samuel 13:30-31 KJV
And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left.
[31] Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.
A lady demonstrated to a group of young people how information got distorted with time. She whispered the information to the first student and asked him to pass it on to the next.
This went on till all of us in the room had listened to the other and passed on the information. The last student, gave back the information to the original ‘owner,’ the lady, who then wrote it on the blackboard. We all started murmuring among ourselves.
She explained that though we had not moved out of the room, the information somehow still got distorted. The communication went bad somewhere along the chain.
Children of God must understand that they are not immune to some of these things. Even when it comes to the interpretation of scripture, you may hear one thing here and another there.
Like David, we may react soon as we receive information, only to later find out otherwise. I pray for extra ordinary grace for us to know how to handle wrong information, irrespective of where or who it is coming from.
Have a blessed day.
