2 Samuel 9:7 KJV
And David said unto Mephibosheth, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
“…Give us this day our daily bread,” is one part of the Lord’s Prayer that meant a lot to a friend of mine at a point in his life. Things were extremely hard for him, so he laid much emphasis on his favourite part whenever he prayed the Lord’s Prayer.
Now my friend is well to do, but he’s never stopped praying his favourite prayer, because he claims he understands what it means to lack ones daily provisions.
Mephibosheth, for the prince that he was, lacked a great deal. But somehow, at a particular time, on a particular day, a thought came to king David that was going to change Mephibosheth’s life for good. His prayer was answered, the King restored him to royal status and saw his daily needs catered for.
In due time, God is going to drop a thought in somebody’s head to issue a command/decision which will affect the provision of your daily bread, so don’t quit praying about it. Help is on the way! Mephibosheth’s portion could be yours too.
Have a blessed Friday.
