1 Samuel 24:11 KJV
Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
What would you do when an opportunity to get even with someone who’s been hunting you all along, comes your way? Would you take it?
There are moments in our lives when we have to take decisions that are time-bound, when every passing second counts. And oh, how we wish we could know and even see the consequences in a vision first before making those decisions!!
Unfortunately, life doesn’t offer those fantasies.
Life teaches you to strike while the iron is hot, but a David who depended absolutely on God for direction knew this cliché didn’t apply to him. He struck only when God asked him to, not when the iron was hot. He spared the king’s life.
Absolute dependence on God requires that even when we strongly feel that a thing is right, we still seek the Lord’s approval. Now that is hard and almost impractical, but not impossible. Develop a culture for it and share your experiences with others.
Have a blessed day.
