1 Samuel 23:7-8 KJV
And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
[8] And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
How is this possible?
That one instruction from God, can have two contradicting implications. This is one of the challenging positions most of us find ourselves in these days, one word from the LORD receives many interpretations from different people.
David enquired from the Lord twice before going down to Keilah. God had promised him victory. Yet while David was there, Saul, saw the opportunity as God sent (See v7 above). He believed God Himself had delivered David into his hands.
Seeking the opinion of people for what condition or circumstances surround you at a particular moment is good, but their interpretations may be tangential from God’s.
And if you have to consult Him more than once to ascertain confirmation, like David did, please go ahead. Only God’s views about the situation, are in the right. I pray He surrounds you with the right people who can speak His will.
Have a blessed day.
