Judges 7:15 KJV
And it was so , when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the Lord hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
The account of Gideon is a very interesting read. Counting how many times God had to prove himself to a man, just so he could be used to carry out God’s agenda is rather unusual.
But it had to be so because of Gideon’s background. His father worshipped baal. In fact, there were many Midianite soldiers to deny the Jews of their right to worship, and live freely. So much was the oppression that some lived in caves and dens.
So God had all the patience to draw Gideon unto Himself and make him the warrior he became. Some of these attributes of God are less talked about even in our Christian circles. In portraying God as a father we tend to refer to His masculinity in dealing with sin and rewarding evil appropriately.
But our God is also a loving Father who is gentle and patient in drawing those far away closer to Himself. He expects you to adopt a similar attitude. Don’t judge and condemn them, open their eyes to the Father’s loving arms.
Have a blessed day.
