Judges 8:2-3 KJV
And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abi-ezer?
[3] God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.
About a week ago, I chanced upon an article on one of my WhatsApp Groups, that I found interesting, so I consumed everything. It had to do with the responses spouses give each other, which may either make or unmake their homes.
One such scenario goes like this:
Wife says, “Why didn’t you use option A?” Husband answers, “Must I always use option A”?
A more appropriate answer could have gone like this: “I’m exploring option B as an alternative my dear, but will surely revert to option A if B doesn’t work out.”
Gideon in today’s readings adopted a similar response, one that calmed the nerves of those who had asked the questions in anger.
Prov 15:1 admonishes us to use soft answers to turn away wrath. Holy Ghost-filled Christians are not exempted, your anointing doesn’t make your responses automatically wholesome. Guard your lips and stir up no anger.
Have a blessed day.
