[11] And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord , and served Baalim:
It is said that a nation that doesn’t honour its heroes is not worth dying for. It also implies that the stories of the heroes should be well known, and their stories well perpetuated throughout generations.
So that once the ideals of the founding fathers fail to outlive them, the nation becomes lost and pursues a different agenda altogether.
This is a summary of what became of Israel. A generation arose who knew not the Lord, not the works He had done for Israel. The main Hero Himself, God, had been forgotten, how much less His facilitators, like Moses and Joshua. Disaster was going to be the only outcome!
Are there heroes in your own life that you have forgotten? Are there people who have brought you where you are and yet have turned your backs to? Please think again and reconsider. Your chief Hero above is watching.
Have a blessed Friday.
