In which culture is the leader of a people the last person to receive a portion of goodies at their disposal?

Or which culture allows the people to decide what the king/military general should receive as opposed to he himself grabbing what he wants?

Just like the West, we in these parts of the world have also had our fair share of leaders who came and expected to be worshipped… painting a bad image of who a leader should be.
Christ redefined leadership in a unique way and taught what leaders ought to be.

Joshua actually lived it. He led in battles and yet became like a weakling when it came to grabbing possessions.
I pray for the spirit of some of these great men, an unusual spirit of leadership, so that the seeds we sow will reap a bountiful harvest of love for onlookers.
