Joshua 23:10-11 KJV
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
[11] Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the Lord your God.
An old adage goes like this: The last kick of a dying horse is deadly, and its wound inflicting on its assailant.
In what was Joshua’s last words to his people, He chose to express himself using an analogy of a warrior. Of course, being a warrior his whole life, his best lessons came from the battlefield. The old man had come to acknowledge one thing, which he would gladly pass on to the younger generations: GOD FIGHTS FOR YOU (v10)
How did he come to such a conclusion? I’m sure in every single battle he could reckon there were many several moments he should have been wasted. Perhaps in battle-mode he even wielded his sword in ways Jet Li or Steven Seagal never did, which surprised he himself. So he knew clearly, what He meant by that statement.
I pray God would consider the love you have for Him enough, to provoke Him to fight your spiritual battles.
Have a blessed day.
