MINDING THEIR BUSINESS – Tue, Jan 23, 2018

Deuteronomy 22:1-2 KJV

Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.

[2] And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.

Back in the days most of us were taught to mind your own businesses, if we needed to avoid trouble.

Probably because our parents had seen enough trouble in the compound houses we grew up in. Fights were very common and one could easily be accused of taking sides.
Some cultures even take pride in minding their own businesses.

But I have come to know taking such a stance robs you of being a dispenser of the Love of God to your fellow man. Moses warned of this in Deut 21:1-2. Your neighbour’s business is actually your business. You cannot be indifferent to their welfare once you are a Christian.

The Love of God is unable to keep you from feeling what they feel. It won’t make you say “I don’t care,” You have to care!
No wonder we are unable to pray for perishing souls around us, at our workplaces and in our WhatsApp groups.
Arise and show that you care. Mind someone else’s business.

Have a blessed day.
