Deuteronomy 17:17-18 KJV
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
[18] And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites
Can a group of people ever live without a leader? Certainly not!
At any point in time, power must be ceded to one person in trust of the entire group.
But as they say, “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
The ‘sweetness’ of power makes one want more just when their tenure is about to expire. No wonder we’ve had serious challenges with our leaders as Africans.
Christians are not numb to the taste of Power. Because Power is sweet, God forewarned kings at a point when they didn’t even have one, not to write their own Law once they became kings.
Abuse of power and leadership privileges prevails in church as well, and we need to guard our hearts against such. In this regard, your anointing may not help as much as your wisdom. Be a better leader, fight your own corruption from within.
Have a blessed day.
