Deuteronomy 15:11 KJV
For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
For the ancient Jews, the 7th year is always a time to cancel debts and free all those who served under others.
So there was a likelihood that those who were rich felt no desire to lend to the needy in the 6th year.
So God would quickly avert such a mindset and make the people understand that giving to the needy is actually an act of love.
Doing charity becomes hard when we begin to rationalise why we should give at all OR make a million deductions from the hidden motives of those in need. God told Moses that needy will forever be in our midst and Jesus would say whatever you do to the least of them you actually do unto Him.
Whenever the Jews gave to the poor and needy, the Lord made sure that ALL THE WORK OF THEIR HANDS were blessed. You may want to try this approach for the success of your business and do away with the Success 101 lectures for a while.
Have a blessed day.
