Deuteronomy 11:15-16 KJV
And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
[16] Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
I’ve heard people say that, progress/riches do not come to certain people simply because they will be too proud and begin to defy God.
This is a very interesting school of thought. Though I cannot vouch for it, the examples we’ve seen in some sports men and other prominent people who became filthy rich at a tender stage in their lives, gives me reason to consider such statements.
God knew what He was going to give the Jews in Canaan was just too good to be true: A land flowing with milk and honey, so on countless occasions He would remind them not to turn away from Him when they begin to “enjoy.”
The Jews were to adopt many strategies NOT to forsake He who gave them all they were yet to posses.
I pray for wisdom to make wealth for especially all of us young people. But more importantly, I pray we won’t forget He who gave us the wealth, when we “arrive.”
Have a blessed day.
