FORGET NOT – Tue, Jan 09, 2018

Deuteronomy 8:11-12,14 KJV

Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

[12] Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein ;

[14] Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

One of my weaknesses since I was little has been how quickly and easily I forget. I struggled with this for a very long time, growing up as a young boy.

I’d forget to do chores, forget to relay information given to me, even forget to buy the exact amount of something I had been sent to buy. Yet now I see that the same weakness helped me a lot in doing away with pain. In like manner I easily forgot about the things that brought me pain and anguish.

Our ability to forget, as humans, is actually God-given, though He doesn’t expect us to forget who He is and what He does for us. God expects you to forget about the wrongs that have been done to you in the past and move on.

But He doesn’t deserve you forgetting His role in your life. More like selective amnesia, right? Yeah!!!
Remember Him especially in plenty, when all seems well and the ride is smooth, so you can have the the confidence to do same when the going gets tough.

Have a blessed day.
